It’s been quite a while since we last updated this website. We are a lot more active over on our Facebook page but we are going to do our best not to ignore our loyal website readers any longer!
As you may have heard, Thieves’ Kitchen are back in the studio recording album number six. We lay down the instrument tracks one by one, and May 2014 found us back at Southampton’s Aubitt Studios, taking advantage once again of the golden ears of Rob Aubrey.
The first instrument to be recorded was drums, played expertly by Paul Mallyon – a brilliant drummer and all-round nice chap – who has kindly agreed to lend his skills with the sticks to TK for a second album after his wonderful performance on ‘One for Sorrow, Two for Joy’.
The drum tracks sounded fantastic, Paul is so accurate but with a really organic, natural sound that brings the songs to life. We caught some of the session on video so hopefully we’ll be able to share a bit of the action with you later.
We’ll keep you updated as we go on with the rest of the recording, please do check back here and on our Facebook and Twitter pages.
