Amy and Phil guest on new Cirrus Bay album

Early this year, Bill Gillham from Washington-based band Cirrus Bay got in touch with Phil Mercy and Amy Darby to ask if they might like to guest on his band’s album ‘The Search For Joy’. Bill has long been a supporter of Thieves’ Kitchen, and has written some great reviews of the band’s last few albums.

The result, released in March 2014, is an album that has been garnering a very positive response – and many four- or five-star ratings – from reviewers.

The track ‘Waking Wild’ breaks to feature Amy’s crystalline vocals in the mid-section. Meanwhile, Phil contributes a typically masterful guitar solo in the finale of the last track, ‘Learning To Fly’.

The album is full of beauty and emotion, and leaves the listener with a warm, summery, contented feeling. Phil and Amy are delighted to be a part of it.

Cirrus Bay’s album ‘The Search For Joy’ can be heard and purchased from Bandcamp and CDBaby, as well as all the usual iTunes/Amazon/Last FM outlets.
